You have probably read the news, heard the commentary and digested the blogs, so what we are about to say will come as no surprise…

Good Talent is Hard to Find!

I recently attended a presentation by the Committee for Auckland team where the statistics presented clearly demonstrated that acute skills/talent shortages in Auckland are looming. It seems that at a micro level each company is looking after its own nest but when the picture is expanded to the macro level, reality really bites home.

If you are like many people, you’ll be read this information and say; “Ah… so what?”
Well our advice is as follows:

  1. Take a ‘talent step’, no matter how small, to get cracking and become adept at finding impactful talent, now!
  2. Develop then hone these skills
  3. Include your entire staff
  4. Develop strategies for Workforce Planning

At Frog, we desire what our clients’ desire; to identify and present the most distinctive talent to their organisation in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible. Innovation within this process has been critical to its success – and will continue to be.

And sometimes we even take our own advice! Realising that talent sourcing is transitioning to new heights of expertise, Frog took the bull by the horns earlier this year and committed to offering new generation Forensic Search for our clients.

From these early initiatives, additional information has been requested through the Forensic Search team. For example, a recently secured Contract has the team researching a client’s competitors in a particular market segment for the next 2 years.

It’s all about responding to a deeper connection that challenges the status quo. The emphasis is less about the constructs of the actual position and more about the full gamete of information that surrounds the organisation:

  • What it is trying to achieve
  • Leadership styles
  • Vision and purpose
  • Designing a shared agenda.

“Data is the new oil” … as they say!
